Student Worker for Alumni Engagement (Work Study)
Description:
The Office of Alumni Engagement is seeking a highly motivated and organized student worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks related to engaging alumni, fostering connections between alumni and the university, and supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening the alumni community.
Our student workers are responsible for:
- Maintaining databases and records of alumni contact information, event attendance, and engagement activities
- Conducting research on alumni demographics, interests, and preferences to inform engagement efforts
- Assisting in the creation of post-event reports to measure attendance, membership, and impact
- Assisting in the development of communications materials such as newsletters, social media posts, and e-mail campaigns targeted at alumni
- Providing excellent customer service while managing inquiries from alumni
- Providing administrative support for Alumni Engagement initiatives, including:
- Answering in-coming phone calls
- Providing assistance to the staff
- Scheduling various events
- Drafting correspondence
- Completing special projects as assigned
- Day-to-day office work.
Qualifications:
Required
- Must be eligible for work-study funding through the financial aid office
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at A&M-Commerce
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment
Preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Cloud and familiarity with database management systems
- Interest in alumni relations, fundraising, or non-profit management is a plus
- Experience with social media (Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn)
