THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY.

The A&M-Commerce Planetarium has a 40-foot dome with a Digistar 7 all-digital projection system which fills the dome with sights and sounds beyond imagination. The planetarium immerses the audience in a space environment, filling their vision and appearing to take visitors beyond the confines of Earth.

Planetarium staff are expected to have completed & passed a minimum of one astronomy course as they are required to present an interactive night sky to all audiences as a part of the planetarium experience.  All staff are cross-trained to work in the office, present planetarium shows, and work in the ticket office. The ideal candidate should expect to present astronomy-based material to the public.

Hours of operation vary and include regular Friday nights, some weekends, as well as daytime hours and might include occasional work at the observatory. All staff members are expected to work as a team and contribute cooperatively. If this sounds like something of interest, if you are an undergraduate, and you have passed and astronomy class, apply for a position.

Planetarium shows are typically scheduled between 9:30am and 1:30pm Monday through Friday, and Friday nights from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.  The ideal candidate will have availability during this time.

YOU MUST HAVE PASSED AN ASTRONOMY CLASS TO QUALIFY.
