Ticket Sales Internship

Overview: The Lion Athletics Sales Intern will embark on a dynamic learning experience, gaining comprehensive knowledge of the sales process within the sports industry. This internship focuses on sponsorship sales and activation, group sales, and new season ticket sales and renewals for various ticketed sports. The selected intern will receive extensive training and development opportunities, working closely with leaders from A&M-Commerce and Taymar Sales U.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ticket Sales:
    • Assist with and conduct outbound phone calls and face-to-face presentations to sell a diverse range of ticket products for Football, Basketball, and Softball.
    • Offer season tickets, flex ticket packages, group tickets, premium tickets, and premium hospitality packages.
  • Identify new groups interested in purchasing tickets in bulk for events in 2023 and 2024.
  • Manage and organize activation requirements for existing sponsors by managing a comprehensive spreadsheet with all contracted assets, ensuring seamless execution with the marketing team.
  • Innovate and propose new, creative opportunities for Lion Athletics to present to partners.
  • Build and nurture relationships with existing ticket holders to expand business opportunities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to current and potential fans during gamedays, events, and over the phone.
  1. Sponsorship Management and Revenue Generation:
    • Collaborate with the Director of Sponsorship and Ticket Sales to drive revenue for the Athletics department and the university.
  • Assist in renewing current sponsorships for Lion Athletics.
  • Develop yearly recap decks that highlight the efforts of the Athletics department in fulfilling contracted assets, and group experience opportunities.
  • Generate new opportunities for future relationships between local and national businesses and Lion Athletics. This includes creating pitch decks for prospective sponsors, showcasing the benefits of a partnership with the university.
  1. Miscellaneous
    • Represent the athletics department with the utmost levels of character and integrity.
    • Collaborate with Taymar Sales U. employee on campus to execute assigned duties effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sales-oriented mindset with a passion for sports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new skills, including basic proficiency in PowerPoint, Photoshop, Excel, and Photography.

Training and Development: The intern will receive comprehensive training and development opportunities, including mentorship from leaders at A&M-Commerce and Taymar Sales U. This hands-on experience will contribute to the intern's professional growth within the sports sales industry.
